I started seeing the word “Bindzsisztan” on social media before I saw the video. The clip already had 9 million views on YouTube by the time I got around to it. Majka is a popular rapper in Hungary is not exactly someone I pay any attention to — my bad — so his new clip was not something I was focussed on.
On January 18th, he released a song called “Csurran, Cseppen” (translates to Drips and Drops). The story of the video clip is that the Prime Minister of a fictional country, Bindzsisztan, is about to do a TV interview but someone (who looks like Peter Magyar) gives him a truth serum. During the interview the Orban character reveals how easy it is for him to pull the wool over voters eyes, how much money he’s stolen, and how he’s given friends positions of power.
A rapper being counter-cultural and anti-establishment is not unusual, but Majka was well known for being close to Fidesz so this song could be a signal of popular support turning away from Fidesz. Since then the song has millions more views and is likely reaching voters who don’t pay close attention to politics normally.

Csurran, Cseppen song lyrics translated to English
Original Hungarian lyrics here.
[Intro]
Money, money-money-money, cashy-cash,
Come, come, come, come, come here stat,
Money, money-money-money, cash galore,
Money, come to me, I want more!
[Verse 1]
It’s been nearly eight years that I’m the king of this land!
All I had to say was “Russians, get out!” Take a stand.
Then I just needed a little cash and had no fear,
And they only shot one eye out no big deal.
We grew stronger — like a church on the rise,
Just had to bash the gays. No surprise!
Laughed at the fools, ‘cause money’s our game,
Just made them some promises. It was pretty lame.
Later it was clear that we needed a plan,
So I laid it out with my childhood clan.
Most of my crew are convicted crooks,
But when we march, they’ll throw the hooks!
A buddy of mine knocked on my door,
He smelled the cash and knew more was in store.
We cleaned him up and all was tight,
I made him Finance Minister, yeah that’s right!
[Chorus]
A little drip, a little drop,
From here and there, whether it’s cold or hot,
In the heat, when the sun’s burning high,
I survive it all, I rule the sky!
The laws are mine, written just for me!
A little drip, a little drop
The sky rains money non-stop,
And I survive it all, I can’t be beat
Cash is the best friend, it’s pretty neat.
[Verse 2]
Made a lazy few billion and I saved that stash!
Made it worth waking up. Would do it again in a flash!
The first few million made me nervous,
But after that, I was calm and stressless.
This car’s a beauty, ain’t it rolling with style?
Bought with your money? Yeah, that’s been happening for a while.
Bought a Rolex, a Kelly, and a forest retreat,
Even got a secretary who’s real discreet!
I had to survive the elections that was clear.
Come up with something good to make ‘em fear,
Something so complex, that they won’t understand.
We didn’t mess with the Jews as there are lots of ‘em,
And they have the cash so we don’t mess with them.
Bothering the Roma is just a waste,
But they’ll come in handy at the end of the race!
Public procurement tick! Hooligans all good!
Friends of friends pardoned, they’re in the hood!
And if you pay the press with some gold,
The eager fools will print what they’re told!
[Chorus repeats]
[Bridge]
Oh, you heavenly! Oh, you divine! Gangster!
If it’s needed, he’ll make it right,
If he wants it, he’ll take it without a fight.
A brave commander, skin so pale,
Fighting for love and principles without fail,
For country, for God,
For every man, woman, child.
[Chorus repeats]
[Outro]
Listen up, honey!
Let me tell you why we’re doing all this, it’s funny!
Why else?
Money, money-money-money, cashy cash,
Come, come, come, come, come here stat,
Money, money-money-money, cash galore,
Money, come to me, I want more!|
Oh man, I love money!
